We continue to get acquainted with the members of the rehabilitation team of the Center of rehabilitation medicine at the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovsky
We talk with Natalia Demchenko, a doctor of physical and rehabilitation medicine.
- - We talked with your colleagues about the work of the center. Could you tell us something about outpatient rehabilitation, since patients need it for many diseases or injuries?
- Yes, it is possible to receive outpatient rehabilitation for 14 days for at least 1 hour a day, and if necessary, a patient can undergo it 2 times a year.
- Patients come to us after a consultation with a neurologist or traumatologist in the clinic, or after a visit to a family doctor or a doctor of physical and rehabilitative medicine.
- Out-patient rehabilitation care begins with an initial rehabilitation examination by a doctor, then we draw up an individual rehabilitation plan, set goals, objectives, determine the number of specialists who will work with the patient, make prescriptions, the amount of kinesitherapy, mechanotherapy, ergotherapy and what hardware medicine can be prescribed,
- Each specialist of the multidisciplinary team involved in the patient's care prepares a rehabilitation program according to his or her profile, and then the patient goes for treatment.
Whether inpatient or outpatient, rehabilitation care is provided in cooperation with the patient's attending physician and with a detailed study of the patient's history or medical record, because all prescriptions must be adjusted not only to the data of the injury or disease that brought the patient to the department, but also to all concomitant diagnoses, the body's capabilities, which must be coordinated in the treatment plan. If necessary, we prescribe additional diagnostic examinations before starting treatment. During the course of treatment there are also stage examinations, and after the treatment there is a final rehabilitation examination.
The center has excellent specialists and is currently equipped with excellent rehabilitation equipment, which helps us in our work.
It is a pleasure to work in a large, friendly, close-knit hospital team, to feel involved in the only common mechanism of the Center, which has been providing rehabilitation assistance to Ukrainians for the second year, restoring not only the body, but also the soul!
- We thank you and your team for helping to restore the health of Ukrainians. And we wish you success in your important work.
We wish the patients a quick recovery!
We thank our friends from Germany for the medical equipment that will help to restore the health of Ukrainians.
