An international project will be implemented from July 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, in cooperation between the Altmühlseeklinik Hensoltshöhe (Germany) and the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after Sklifosovskyi (Ukraine) to support the Ukrainian healthcare system and promote its restoration. The project aims to develop the hospital's Center for Rehabilitation Medicine to treat wounded military personnel and civilians.
To restore the Ukrainian medical system, it is most effective to utilize the experience of existing partners, particularly medical partnerships between hospitals.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements the program, which is commissioned and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The GIZ program 'Partnerships between Hospitals - Partners Strengthen Health' aims to foster collaboration between German hospitals, universities, colleges, and non-governmental organizations with their counterparts in partner countries.
The project has allocated 100,000 euros for the purchase of rehabilitation equipment and 50,000 euros for functional beds. The hospital in Germany will receive the funds and be responsible for financing investments in the Ukrainian hospital, as stipulated in the project.
During the project, training programs for rehabilitation specialists will be conducted in accordance with international educational standards.
