On July 23rd, Dr. Anselm Schneider, Program Director of the "Hospital Partnerships - Partners for Health" program of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, got acquainted with the work of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center of the Sklifosovsky National Medical University.
The head of the center, Iryna Pchelintseva, told him about the center. In the office Dr. Schneider saw a map of Ukraine with marks for all regions.
Ms. Pchelintseva said that the center helps people from all over Ukraine, and the map marked the settlements where the patients came from.
The 30-bed unit and rehabilitation team work with each patient for at least 3 hours. Thanks to the equipment the specialists of the center can help patients in different areas of rehabilitation at the same time.
Some of the equipment was purchased by German friends through this program and is used to help patients recover.
