We continue our meetings with the team of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovsky.
In the hall, Roman Lytvynov, a physiotherapist at the center, is working with a patient on an anti-gravity treadmill.
- Good morning, Mr. Lytvynov! Could you please tell us how your treatment is going?
- Good morning. My name is Evgeniy. A year ago I was operated in the neurosurgical department of the hospital. I had an intervertebral hernia removed, which appeared suddenly after heavy exertion. After the surgery, I had exacerbations every 3 months, I took anti-inflammatories and painkillers, but it did not always help. I couldn't feel my toes, it was difficult to get up every morning, I had problems with my feet and walking. On the recommendation of the doctors, I came to the rehabilitation and recovery center, because there is a lot of modern equipment and new possibilities. For another 10 days I plan to take classes under the supervision of the center's staff. I hope that I will get better because I have to go back to work.
The work of the center is excellent, the team is great. I thank them for everything and wish them development and success in their work, and peaceful skies and victory for all of us.
Roman Lytvynov: The patient is now working on modern equipment that allows him to restore the usual biomechanics of walking and running after surgery, mechanically reducing the body weight by 30-50-70%, which is very necessary at the beginning of training and facilitates the restoration of coordination, strength and endurance. Later, in combination with the block simulators, rehabilitation is faster and with better results. We now have a large number of patients with similar pathology, and we manage to help most of them recover quickly.
- I would like to thank the staff of the center for their work and wish them new successes and achievements! And I wish all the patients of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center a speedy recovery!
