On July 23rd, Dr. Anselm Schneider, Program Director of the program "Hospital Partnerships - Partners for Health" of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH visited Poltava.
Viktor Lysak, Director of the Poltava Regional State Administration Department, and Hryhoriy Oksak, Chief Physician of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovsky, acquainted Dr. Schneider with the work of the hospital and the Rehabilitation Medicine Center, which received rehabilitation equipment within the framework of the cooperation project between the Altmühlseeklinik Hensoltshöhe (Germany) and the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovsky.
During the year of the project the hospital received three times humanitarian aid from the German partner hospital to ensure the full rehabilitation process of patients after diseases, injuries and wounds. The donation included beds, bedside tables, wardrobes for 30 patients and block trainers with other rehabilitation equipment. The total amount of the aid is over 150 thousand euros.
A team of German specialists held 6 online lectures for 12 rehabilitation teams of hospitals in Poltava region and for everyone in Ukraine. They were posted on YouTube channel, where they were viewed 965 times.
V. Lysak: The most important thing is that not only the equipment, but also the training of the personnel, the experience of our colleagues from Germany, and the exchange of this experience should work for a positive result. After all, the specialists of this clinic provide consultations to all rehabilitation centers established in the region. We have a large number of displaced persons, and now we have a situation where the number of cerebrovascular diseases, strokes, is increasing, and they are extremely young, because these are people who are under constant stress. And our task is to diagnose and provide thrombolytic treatment in a timely manner. And also to start early rehabilitation of patients. And we need to cover the whole region with this service and bring it closer to the people.
During the meeting they discussed the development of the hospital's rehabilitation center and the prospects for the development of rehabilitation medicine in the region.
Viktor Lysak, Director of the Poltava Regional Medical Association, and Hryhoriy Oksak, Chief Physician of the Sklifosovsky National Hospital, thanked the international partners for the project and expressed their hope for further cooperation in projects with GIZ Hospital Partnerships "Hospital Pertnerships - Partners Strengthen Health" with other hospitals in the region.
