On May 22, 2024, a conference on international medical partnerships was held in Kyiv
The conference of medical partnerships was opened by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska:
- I am grateful to Mr. Lyashko and the entire Ministry of Health for taking this idea and developing it. And we already have great results.
I am grateful to Germany for its support and 18 hospital partnerships, I am grateful to France for 9 partnerships in different regions and directions, I am grateful to all countries that provide assistance.
I am grateful to the Minister of Health of Estonia, Riina Sikkut, and the Minister of Health of Lithuania, Arunas Dulkis, who are here today, I am grateful to your countries and your hospitals, which were among the first to help treat the sick and wounded, and today your hospitals are partners of our hospitals.
It is important that our partnership grows and continues, and I am pleased to announce that we have added 8 new agreements today. And I also hope that those who have not yet joined will do so. The ambassadors of Switzerland and the Italian Republic are here. And we will be glad to see Switzerland and Italy as partners of our hospitals.
What can Ukraine give in addition to our gratitude? It is experience. Ukrainian experience in the treatment of polytrauma and combat injuries, experience in extreme medicine with a massive influx of patients. Our doctors and surgeons perform extremely difficult tasks every day. This is something that needs to be shared. We pay a very high price for this knowledge and it should not be lost, it can help advance medicine around the world. Although we hope that you will not have to treat wounds from explosions in your countries. After all, Ukraine is doing everything it can to prevent the war from continuing.
I would like to address the representatives of Ukrainian hospitals. I ask you to be proactive and take advantage of the unique opportunities offered by hospital partnerships. Use them as efficiently as possible and do it for the sake of your patients, for whom this opportunity can save their lives.
Representatives of international hospital partnerships shared their experiences of fruitful work.
New projects are developed, modern technologies are used, training and exchange of experience and knowledge take place.
