I believe in improvement

Another meeting with the team of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovsky.

Roman Lytvynov, a physiotherapist of the center, is working with a patient in the hall.

- Good day to you! Tell us the secrets of your recovery. A few months ago you were in rehabilitation and in a wheelchair?

- Hello, my name is Igor.

At the end of 2023 I was admitted to the hospital with a stroke, first to the neurosurgery department. I was paralyzed. I was in a very pessimistic mood, because the disease was serious, I could not walk or move. And when I was transferred to the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine, my mood improved. I saw the "space" technologies that can make a person quite mobile from a stationary one. This is the second time I've been to the department, and I was already a little out of shape. I am moving, my arms are moving, I can serve myself. And I have great hope that I will recover, even if not 100 percent. I have faith in improvement, I have desire and confidence in my abilities and a wonderful medical team - I am just in love with the staff of the department. I am so grateful to them. Many people came to the department in wheelchairs, just like me, and left on their own. And that is a great example to follow. Training on various simulators under the supervision of specialists - and you can see the result. Roman Oleksandrovych said: now we will walk, and took the walker away. And I walked. Such hope and confidence in my abilities, such faith in the words of a professional.

Roman Litvinov: You noticed that the department has a lot of patients after strokes, with paresis and limb dysfunction. The department is equipped with a range of rehabilitation equipment for different muscle groups. The patient and a physical therapist assistant start with light exercises and gradually move on to more complex exercises, gradually restoring limb function. Most patients who come to us in wheelchairs are discharged and return with a cane or walker.

And the patient with a physical therapist continues his recovery on an anti-gravity treadmill.

- I would like to thank the staff of the Center of rehabilitation medicine for their effective work, for restoring the health of Ukrainians and wish them new successes and achievements! And I wish all patients of the center a speedy recovery!
