On October 23, 2023, the joint German-Ukrainian project 'Partnership between Hospitals - Partners Strengthen Health' commenced in cooperation with Altmühlseeklinik Hensoltshöhe (Germany) and the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.V. Sklifosovskyi (Ukraine) to support the Ukrainian healthcare system.
The project aims to aid the development of the Rehabilitation Medicine Center of the regional hospital in providing medical services to those in need in the Poltava Region.
The project is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, which is the German Agency for International Cooperation. It is commissioned and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
One of the areas of cooperation is a series of lectures on rehabilitation from German experts. It is hoped that the experience of German colleagues will be of interest to medical workers in Ukrainian hospitals.
Dr. Richard Häne, a physician specializing in orthopedics and traumatology, gave a lecture on "Rehabilitation after Amputations". As a senior physician, he primarily cares for orthopedic patients. He gained extensive experience in operative and conservative treatment of patients with knee, shoulder, and hip joint diseases, as well as degenerative diseases of the spine and joints during his work as a specialist in an acute hospital. Additionally, the author holds medical qualifications in physical therapy and spa therapy.
